Why do paper cuts hurt so much? Paper cuts hurt because of the nociceptor that is in our finger. "Nociceptors are the nerve endings responsible for nociception, one of the two types of persistent pain (the other, neuropathic pain, occurs when nerves in the central or peripheral nervous system are damaged)." your arm has nerves which sense when damage to the body is being done and why it hurts is just a alarm because pain is a illusion

Our hands and fingers have a cell called a Nociceptor that is connected to the brain by electrical signals. Also even if the paper looks O.K it has irritating left over scraps of paper. SCIENCE!!!!!
